Carolyn is Director of Family Philanthropy/Trust Officer for Pendleton Square Trust Company. She brings a diverse and broad business perspective to Pendleton Square. In the first stage of her career, Carolyn was in the Capital Markets Healthcare Group at First Union Bank, now Wells Fargo, where she specialized in senior debt for hospitals and outpatient providers. Much of her work involved leading large syndicated debt transactions for her clients. The next phase of her career took her into the non-profit world at The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee where Carolyn started and led a new business unit that brought shared services to the childcare system in Tennessee. Non-profits need to share costs if possible, but setting up a realistic delivery model for doing so is difficult and often economically unfeasible. This project, called Childcare Tennessee, achieved its goals within three years by focusing on client needs and back office efficiencies.
Carolyn serves the community best by chairing major events and fundraisers in Nashville. Carolyn has been co-chair of the Eve of Janus, The Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville, the Harding Academy Art Show, and the Power of the Purse Luncheon among others. Carolyn is also a former board chair for the McNeilly Center for Children. A life-long Nashvillian, Carolyn graduated with a BA in economics and business from Rhodes College and an MBA from Emory University, where she was a Woodruff Fellow. She is married to John Hannon and has a college age daughter.
