Reid Benson is Estate & Special Asset Officer for Pendleton Square. In this role, he assists the Director of Estate Services in administering the Company’s estate engagements, and also oversees administration of the Company’s special assets such as residential and commercial property, personal property, mineral and timber interests and closely held businesses.
A West Tennessee native, Reid began his career at a small, one-attorney law firm in Jackson, Tennessee. During his 10-year tenure at the firm, he oversaw the expansion of the practice, which included a focus on indigent law and a thriving District Court appeals practice. While pursuing a Juris Doctorate from Nashville School of Law, he interned with The Primacy Firm, an entertainment law firm in Nashville, which strengthened his knowledge of contracts and transactional law.
After graduating from law school, Reid’s interest in the intersection of real estate and law, especially commercial property, led him to become a licensed real estate agent. With knowledge of all aspects of a real estate transaction, his project management expertise informs his role at Pendleton, which involves working with external real estate agents and managers for properties held in active accounts, as well as managing active estates and terminating trusts.
He is an active member of the Estate Planning Council of Middle Tennessee and enjoys traveling, the outdoors and spending time with his rescue dogs Ruby and Beau.
