Pendleton Square Trust Company Expands Advisor-Friendly Trust Administration Platform to Arizona

Firm opens office in Scottsdale to serve families in Phoenix and the Southwest

PHOENIX (October 21, 2024) – Pendleton Square Trust Company, Inc., an independent trust company providing non-investment trust and estate services to advisors and high-net worth families, today announced the opening of its newest office in Scottsdale, Arizona. Three recently hired Arizona team members will serve the Southwest market, expanding upon Pendleton Square’s existing presence in the Southeast.

Pendleton Square is an advisor-friendly trust company guiding generations forward to protect and sustain family legacies. With offices in Chattanooga, Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta and now Scottsdale, the firm has been serving families and administering trusts, estates and private foundations since its founding in 2015. In strategic partnership with a family’s trusted investment advisor, estate planning attorney and tax advisor, Pendleton Square works collaboratively to focus on the unique trust administration needs of each relationship.

“Planting roots in Arizona is a major milestone for our company and one that allows us to reach a growing community of affluent families and professionals seeking trust and estate services throughout the region,” said Pendleton Square CEO Betsy Brown. “Arizona’s business-friendly environment and demographics make it an ideal place to establish a local office, which will serve as a launchpad for serving families within the state, as well as Southern California, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.”

Ben Jarman, Managing Principal, Arizona, will manage the new Scottsdale office while serving families and developing relationships in the market and nearby areas. As a fourth-generation Phoenix resident, Jarman has spent his entire 25-year career in the Phoenix metro market serving families in the areas of trust administration, financial planning, and banking. With this wide range of experience, Jarman has an intimate understanding of the challenges faced today by high-net-worth individuals, families and their advisors.

Jarman received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University and his master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University. He currently holds the CFP® and CTFA designations and has previously held the Series 7 and 65 licenses, as well as life and casualty insurance licenses.

“Trusts are an essential tool for families to protect and preserve assets for future generations, and I look forward to partnering with families and their selected advisors to provide superior trust and estate services,” said Jarman. “Pendleton Square’s advisor-friendly platform complements the expertise provided by estate planning, legal, insurance and tax professionals, creating unique and customized solutions that secure family legacies.”

Rachel Zaslow joins Pendleton Square as a Senior Fiduciary Officer and Trust Officer. In this role, she partners with a family’s legal counsel in preparing and reviewing trust and estate plans, and evaluates prospective trusts for administration. She also works with families and their advisors to guide them through complex transactions and problem-solve fiduciary issues. Zaslow has over 10 years of experience in the trust and estate field, first as an estate planning and probate attorney with a special focus on elder law and special needs planning, then as a trust and estate administrator at several institutions in the Phoenix area.

Zaslow earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Puget Sound and her law degree from Phoenix School of Law. She is currently licensed to practice law in Arizona and is an active member of the Arizona Bar.

Logan Baker serves as Trust Officer in Pendleton Square’s new Scottsdale office. Baker’s professional responsibilities include managing relationships and supporting development efforts across Arizona and the West Coast. Baker brings a deep understanding and experience in navigating family dynamics and the delicacies of generational planning while working alongside a family’s trusted advisors. She graduated from Campbell University in North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in trust and wealth management with a minor in financial planning.

“Building relationships is at the heart of what we do,” said Brown, “and we have assembled an experienced local team with deep ties to this community to provide best-in-class trustee services to families and their advisors.”
